The Importance of C-TPAT—by Amy Kruntovski
C-TPAT stands for Customs Trade Partnership Against
Terrorism. A C-TPAT vehicle check is an inspection of
loaded and empty trucks and trailers that are to be
completed upon entering and departing from the
truck yard and at the last point of loading prior to reaching the US border.
These checks are very important and they need to be documented on your
electronic log. We need your help to get these done and keep our equipment safe and secure.

Safety First—by Amy Kruntovski
The leaves are falling and the weather is getting
cooler. It is October already, and we are heading into the
last few months of 2013. We’ve seen great results on all of
our DOT and MTO inspections. I want to remind everyone
to continue to perform our pre-trip inspections and report
or repair defects found as soon as possible in order to stay
on top of the maintenance of our trucks and trailers. As
discussed in our last driver’s meeting, please verify that
the tractor and trailer that you have been assigned to have
a valid annual safety inspection before you start moving
down the road. Thank you for your great work and let’s
finish off the year with all clear inspections!
On a personal note, my family and I have relocated
to Beverly Hills, Michigan. We are getting settled into our
new neighborhood quickly. I will be working out of both
the Oldcastle and the Detroit Terminals so feel free to
reach me at both terminals if you need my help or support.
Oldcastle (519)-737-1275 ext.255 or Detroit (313)-9653370 ext.255. I can always be reached by email anytime!!
