MEN ARE FROM MARS,
WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS
While both men and women share the procrastination habit, our research has found that women spend an extra 26
minutes procrastinating every day. Daily procrastination reaches an average of 231 minutes (that’s a huge 3 hours 51
minutes!) among women compared to an average of 205 minutes (3 hours 25 minutes) spent procrastinating by men.
The impact of procrastination also varies between men and women, with six in ten men (63%) confessing that they
have failed to complete a task due to procrastination, in comparison to seven in ten women (71%).

Women also spend more time than
men procrastinating by personal
grooming, scrubbing and polishing
before cracking on with the tasks
at hand. That is not to say the male
population does not care for their
appearance – on the contrary, men
spend 16 minutes procrastinating
through personal grooming each day,
compared to women’s 22 minutes.

the same amount of time each day
procrastinating by watching TV (an
hour), they differ when it comes to
their internet usage. Women are
more likely to procrastinate on social
media sites, spending 28 minutes
procrastinating on their network of
choice every day compared to 22
minutes spent doing the same by
men. Meanwhile men are spending
their time browsing other websites
online spending 36 minutes browsing
per day - 6 minutes more than
women. Procrastination by cleaning
and tidying also differs by gender,
with women spending an average
of 32 minutes each day putting off
tasks by cleaning compared to just 18
minutes each day by men.
