Along The Way
Some of you may remember my story in Giving Back magazine from 2017 when , after surviving throat and prostate cancer , I opened Extraordinary Ballroom Dance Studio and donated 100 percent of my business proceeds to charities .
Then , in 2018 , I became a Gentleman Host on cruise ships . I felt being a Host would be perfect for me and , for nearly two years , it was . I traveled , socialized , and danced on cruise ships around the world .
Because many cruises that I was a Gentleman Host on sailed out of Florida , I was considering moving there and opening a dance studio just as I had in San Diego . As a Host , I met passengers who wanted dance lessons before their cruise started or after it was over . Being in Florida made it easier for me to travel , but I also felt it was important to continue “ giving back ” for having survived cancer twice .
In June 2019 , in Dublin , Ireland I met Renee . Since Renee was a solo traveler , our paths frequently crossed on the ship .
Although unexpected , it felt perfect for Renee and me to be in this relationship . It was as if fate had intervened in our lives . Little did we know what an extraordinary impact the relationship would have on both of us .
