Funding Needs
Since 1969 , San Ysidro Health has strived to make their mission a reality for the people they serve throughout San Diego County . As experts in delivering quality healthcare and social services , San Ysidro Health is seeking support to help build and equip their new facility in National City .
Currently , the City of National City :
• Has the highest rate in San Diego county of seniors living in poverty - over 20 % vs the county rate of 7 % according to CPI study .
• Zip codes are over represented in COVID deaths - many were seniors due to overcrowded multigenerational households . This caused essential workers to unintentionally infect their elderly loved ones .
• Has the highest rate of chronic illnesses amongst seniors in San Diego County . This includes diabetes , hypertension , and respiratory disease which impacts their quality of life significantly especially if left untreated .
