The San Diego Police Foundation recently celebrated its 11th Annual Women in Blue Luncheon . This signature event salutes leadership and diversity by recognizing the stellar achievements of women who have answered the call to protect and serve . Women in Blue is an initiative that now stretches from coast to coast at police foundations across America , and it started right here in San Diego , in 2011 .
