The Mt . Soledad National Veterans Memorial
is far more than just a cross . It is one of the most unique veteran memorials in America , and is the only one honoring veterans , living and deceased , from the Revolutionary War to the current war on terror . More than 5,700 beautifully etched black granite plaques honor Presidents , Medal of Honor recipients , admirals , generals , privates , airmen , seamen , and thousands of veterans whose names may not be familiar but who proudly served our nation and helped preserve the freedoms we enjoy as Americans .
Critical capacity has been reached and we must build more walls ! This is where you come in . A plan is in place to expand five of the existing walls to provide space for 2,000 more plaques . This will allow us to continue to preserve the legacy of our Veterans and active duty servicemembers for approximately 10 more years . But we can ’ t do it without your support ! Take your place alongside our Beacon of Freedom Honor Roll in paying tribute to those to whom we owe so much .
