Maria T . Carriedo-Ceniceros , MD is SanYsidro Health ’ s Vice President and Chief Medical Officer . Dr . Carriedo-Ceniceros leads the medical , dental and behavioral health of clinical professionals through the organization ’ s principles of compassion and excellence . With over 20 years of experience as a Family Medicine physician in the community health care setting ; and as an integral member of the Executive Leadership team , Dr . Carriedo- Ceniceros ensures effective and efficient delivery of high quality , compassionare medical care consistent with the mission of San Ysidro Health .
Born and raised in the South Bay , she graduated from Sweetwater High School in National City . She attended Harvard University in Cambridge , Massachussetts where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree . In 2000 , she earned her Doctorate of Medicine from the UC San Diego School of Medicine and in 2003 ; she completed her family medicine residency at Scripps Mercy Hospital , Chula Vista . Dr . Carriedo-Ceniceros is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine .
Upon completion of her residency , she returned to National City to begin her career at San Ysidro Health ’ s National City Family Clinic . Her passionate service with the underserved population is remarkable and addressing their complex health needs directly is a priority in order to provide comprehensive care and begin a healthy pathway to overall well-being .
For Dr . Carriedo-Ceniceros , San Ysidro Health ’ s new location in National City is very personal . The community she serves is the community where she grew up . Today , her career has come full circle with her son currently a medical student at a leading health sciences institution , A . T . Still University , School of Osteopathic Medicine .
At the core of San Ysidro Health ’ s legacy is our dedication to high quality , compassionate care for all especially children and seniors and it is demonstrated daily by the caliber of doctors and medical professionals .
