Diego County is proud to announce Jack Maizel has been voted in as Board Chair Elect and will become Federation ’ s new Board Chair on July 1 . Maizel joined the Federation Board in 2010 and most recently served as Vice Co-Chair Philanthropic Strategy . Maizel will succeed current Board Chair David Bramzon who concludes his two-year term as Federation Board Chair on June 30 , 2021 .

A native of Mexico City , Maizel arrived to San Diego just shy of his 9th birthday . From a young age , he was immersed in his new Jewish Community that shaped his youth and adult life - as a student in several of our local Jewish Day Schools , a camper and then staff member at Ken Jewish Community , and an educator at Hebrew High .
“ San Diego ’ s Jewish community welcomed me , nurtured me and played a key role in who I am today as a leader , as a philanthropist , and as a person ,” Maizel said . “ I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve my local and global community .”
