Be relentless in support of women ’ s heart health !
One is too many . That is the message from the American Heart Association . Cardiovascular disease and stroke still claim the life of 1 in 3 women , more than any other disease , even with the pandemic . The good news – 80 % of cardiovascular disease and stroke can be prevented with action , advocacy and education .
The American Heart Association and its supporters , including the Circle of Red giving society , have been relentless in their pursuit to raise awareness and fund life-saving research , much of which is studied and performed right here in San Diego . Circle of Red is an elite group of women dedicated to supporting the mission and work of the San Diego American Heart Association .
This year ’ s Go Red for Women campaign went beyond the ballroom as the movement went digital , reaching more women across the region than ever before .
Go Red for Women , the AHA ’ s signature women ’ s health program , is a comprehensive campaign designed to increase women ’ s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally . It is not only about wearing red and sharing facts , but also encouraging women to stand together and take charge of their own heart and brain health . Because when we stand together , we can change history and inspire all women to be heart healthy - for our mothers , daughters , sisters , and friends .
