This year AHA is asking women to Be The Beat where ever you are . They want women everywhere to reclaim their heart healthy rhythm . They want to keep the beat going . They want women to turn up the tempo , to set a new goal , to remind their loved ones that small actions build up to big changes . After all , good health is a journey . It is not a destination .
As Go Red approaches 20 years of making an impact and being a leading trusted voice for women ’ s heart health , their charge remains clear : continue to empower women across the globe to join us in the fight against their greatest health threat .
New this year , San Diego is amplifying the importance of females in STEM related fields with the addition of STEM Goes Red . The program draws from the American Heart Association ’ s strong legacy of science , education , and discovery to help propel young women into rewarding careers in STEM . We must develop a pipeline of innovators who will develop the research , technology and innovations that will eliminate heart disease and ensure health equity in our communities . And it starts right here .

The American Heart Association and its supporters , including the Circle of Red giving society , have been relentless in their pursuit to raise awareness and fund life-saving research and opportunities , much of which is studied and performed right here in San Diego . Circle of Red is an influential group of women dedicated to supporting the mission and work of the American Heart Association , San Diego Division .
