In 2017 , SIA assisted a mother and the Sparks Nevada Police Department in the arrest of Christopher Alexander Bojorquez ; a predator who lured a 14-year-old girl out of her home to Mexico . Bojorquez did not show up for bail and became a fugitive . For a second time , SIA deployed resources and coordinated with Mexican , Local and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies to locate Bojorquez . Finally , Bojorquez was recaptured on a $ 1 million warrant on July 25 , 2019 and sentenced to Nevada State Prison for up to eight years .

After sentencing , SIA continues to work with families to provide legal counsel and will file criminal and civil lawsuits against predators to ensure justice is served . In October 2020 , SIA assisted a mother in obtaining a $ 250,000 judgement on behalf of a 14-yearold child who was a victim of a sexual predator . Once the funds are received , they will assist the minor with ongoing treatment , rehabilitation and recovery . “ We now have a vehicle to obtain assets to assist the child and family to cover ongoing costs for rehabilitation , counseling and education ,” stated Travers . SIA legal counsel added “ hopefully the fact that predators will face civil liability along with criminal prosecution , and the possibility of judgment liens levied against their personal assets , will be a strong deterrent to anyone involved in trafficking children in the United States .”
