To build Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa , Father Joe ’ s Villages assembled funding from a combination of State , County and City sources , commercial lending , and private philanthropy . Once constructed , Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa will generate enough rental revenue to cover all expenses related to ongoing building operations and to provide supportive services for the residents .

A LEGACY OF HOPE
Our Donor Family , which generously provides twothirds of our annual operating funds , has made Father Joe ’ s Villages the most trusted and effective homeless services provider in the region . Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa is the next link in this partnership to provide lifesaving services and permanent homes for thousands of our San Diego neighbors overcoming homelessness .
The innovative and sustainable funding model of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa means that as our Donor Family gives in honor of recognition opportunities throughout the building , their gifts will be directed toward critical maintenance and operations throughout the now-aging East Village campus .
Residents of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa will continue to access the resources provided at Father Joe ’ s Villages ’ campus , in addition to thousands of other neighbors still living unsheltered in our community . Additionally , donors will have the opportunity to honor Father Joe Carroll ’ s legacy by directing their gift toward an endowment in his name .
