The Emporia Granada Theatre announced another big performer will take its stage in September .

It was announced Tuesday morning that country music star Craig Morgan will play The Emporia Granada Theatre at 7 p . m ., Wednesday , September 28 . The show is being sponsored by The Emporia Granada Theatre and Redline Trucking .

Tickets will go on sale to 2016 Friends of the Granada Members at 10 a . m . Wednesday and to the general public at 10 a . m . Friday . Tickets

He ’ s also a 17-year Army and Army Reserves veteran , a passionate champion of the military , a philanthropist and a celebrated motivational speaker .

Gerry Duane Dorathy , aged 82 years , died Monday , August 1 , in Waverly . Gerry served in the Army . He was a professor at ESU .

Kyle Matthew wilson

Kyle Matthew Wilson , 30 , of Manhattan , Kansas and formerly of Emporia died Friday , July 29 , 2016 at Via Christi Health in Manhattan , Kansas .

Kyle was born on April 10 , 1986 in Emporia , Kansas the son of Jerome Todd and Jodi Annice Johns Wilson . Surviving family members include : parents , Jodi Wilson-Dunlap and husband Wes Dunlap of Emporia , and Jerome Todd Wilson and companion Karen Lacy of Emporia ; brothers , Tyler Scott Wilson and companion Ashly Leinbaugh of Manhattan , Kansas , and Michael Steven Wilson and companion Tara Hughes of Allen , Kansas ; grandparents , James Arthur Wilson and Jean Anne Wilson both of Topeka ; great aunts , Sarah Mounkes of Emporia , Betty Small of Lebo , and Muriel Mullikin and husband Russell of Augusta ; great uncle , James Gilligan of Marco Island , Florida ; uncles , Jeff Johns of Emporia , Kansas and Jay Johns of Buckeye , Arizona ; nieces and nephews , Holly Wilson , Dominic Wilson , Kaylee Burton , Brynlee Wilson , Kemper Wilson , Jaxon Leinbaugh .

He is preceded in death by his grandparents , Walter L . Johns , and Donna M . Johns ; and his uncle , Michael S . Wilson .

Kyle graduated from Emporia High in 2004 and then went to Dodge City Community College , Pratt County Community College where he received his associates degree and then to Ft . Hays State University where he received his bachelor ’ s degree . For the last three and half years he was employed at Westar Energy in Manhattan , Kansas as the Senior Technician Design .

Cremation has taken place with the memorial service at 11:00 a . m . on Saturday , August 6 , 2016 at Roberts-Blue- Barnett Funeral Home , Emporia , Kansas . The family will receive friends from 10:00 a . m . till the service time . A private interment will be at a later date . Only minor injuries were reported Monday night after a two-vehicle accident involved an Emporia Police Department SUV .

At 7:29 p . m ., scanner traffic indicated an injury accident at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Industrial Road .

Juan Aguilar , the driver of the civilian vehicle , said he was traveling south on Industrial Road . The EPD SUV was headed west on 12th Avenue when they collided in the intersection . Aguilar ran a red light after he said he mistakenly thought it was green .

Emporia Police Sergeant Ray Mattas confirmed Aguilar ’ s description of the crash . He said the officers were responding to a domestic violence call when the wreck occurred .

“ Nothing intentional ,” Mattas said . “ Just an accident which happened to involve a patrol car this time .”

Neither of the parties involved required emergency transport . Aguilar ’ s car sustained heavy front-end damage after colliding with the passenger side of the patrol vehicle .

It is not known at this time whether Aguilar was cited .
