Historically LDP ’ s have provided local producers commodity price protection without obtaining a grain commodity Marketing Assistance Loan ( MAL ). Control of the commodity meaning the producer retains the ability to make all decisions affecting the commodity , including movement and sale . Title to the commodity means the producer has not sold or delivered the commodity to a buyer , including grain under contract .

RICHARD BRUCE TUCKER
Richard Bruce Tucker , 50 , of Americus , Kansas died Saturday , July 9 , 2016 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka , Kansas .
Richard was born June 26 , 1966 in Emporia , Kansas the son of Darrell Dee and Margaret Rachelle ( Smith ) Tucker . He was a production worker for Reser ’ s Fine Foods in Topeka for the past two and half years . Previously he was a production worker for Iowa Beef Processor ’ s and Tyson Meats in Emporia for 23 years . Richard was a member of the United Methodist Church in Americus and was on the Americus Volunteer Fire Department for over 15 years . He was an avid hunter and fisherman .
Richard is survived by his parents , Darrell and Rachelle Tucker of Americus , Kansas ; and a brother , Steve Tucker and wife Stephanie of Grantville , Kansas . He was preceded in death by his grandparents .
Cremation is planned . A memorial service will be held 11:00 A . M . Wednesday , July 13 , 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Americus . Pastor Charles Kayser of Topeka , Kansas will be officiating . The family will visit with friends following the service in the fellowship hall .
The family requests no flowers . Memorial contributions may be made to the Americus Volunteer Fire Department and sent in care of Roberts-Blue- Barnett Funeral Home .

KFB ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENTS

Kansas Farm Bureau ’ s Voters Organized To Elect Farm Bureau Friends ( VOTE FBF ) has released its candidate endorsements for federal and state races in Kansas . In certain races , following the completion of the primary election , vote FBF may make additional endorsements .
Kansas Farm Bureau President Rich Felts reiterated the grass roots process involved in making decisions .
“ Each of these endorsements were based on county recommendations in the legislative district . The VOTE FBF board takes that grassroots input seriously . We encourage these candidates to work with their county Farm Bureaus as we look forward to helping elect these friends of Farm Bureau in the upcoming elections .”
VOTE FBF was established in 1993 to help elect friends of agriculture and rural Kansas . It has had a more than 90 percent success rate for helping endorsed candidates be elected to office .

A large limb was cracked off of a tree and fell into the street on the 400 Block of Arundel Street early Tuesday morning . A brief thunderstorm that rolled through the area brought high winds and heavy rain , leaving some downed branches and other mostly minor debris in its wake . The National Weather Service predicts some strong storms this afternoon and Wednesday , particularly along and south of I-35 .
