Heat Smart kits
ECKAN is holding a Heat Smart fundraiser for Emporia’s low-income residents that can help them save
nearly $200 a year. A donation of $14 by Jan. 14 will
provide a residence a kit containing a wool blanket,
27 feet of weather stripping and energy-saving education. Heat Smart Kits have proven results for energy
savings and over 500,000 kits have been distributed
in 39 states.
To help prevent the cycle of poverty and empower
local families to be self-sufficient, make a donation today to Lyon County ECKAN, 215 W. Sixth Ave, Suite

Polar Beards
Beard Team Kansas is holding a benefit chili feed
at 4 p.m. Saturday at Big Tobacco’s House of Ink, 720
Commercial St. A free-will donation will be accepted
and all donations will go towards the Polar Plunge that
will be held Feb. 20 in Emporia.

The Americus United Methodist Church invites the
communit
