Page 28 GAZZETE Philip Seymour Hoffman Philip Seymour-Hoffman was a Hollywood actor and film director He was born on the 23rd of July 1967 in Fairport in New York to his parents Marilyn O’Connell and George Stowell Hoffman. His ancestry includes Irish, German, English and Dutch nationalities. His parents divorced in 1976. He began acting in High School because a bad neck injury caused him to quit wrestling. At the age of 17, he was selected to attend The New York State School of the Arts. Hoffman earned a BFA in NYU (New York University). Hoffman’s acting career began in a TV show called Law and Order in which he played a defendant in a trial. Since then he has played many different characters in many different movies. His latest film on the bigscreen was The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Where he played The Games master, Plutarch Heavensbee. Hoffman died on the 2nd of February in his rented office in Manhattan NY. He was in the middle of filming The Hunger Games: Mokingjay Part 2. He had already filmed a majority of his scenes. Hoffman was considered the greatest actor for playing characters.
