Cet automne le musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris exposera une série encore peu connue de Andy
Warhol (1928-1987) qu’il réalisa en 1978. Cet artiste est considéré comme l’un des initiateurs si ce n’est l’inventeur du Pop Art. Ce sera la plus vaste installation qu’ait jamais livrée Andy Warhol : 102 toiles, mises bout
à bout, qui couvrent quelque 130 m de murs. La série Shadows (Ombres) part de 2 clichés d’ombres pris dans
son célèbre atelier, et est présentée comme une variation extrêmement abstraite autour de la mort ou plutôt
de l’angoisse qu’elle est capable de générer en nous. Cette œuvre monumentale sera exposée au MAMVP
avec près de 70 autres tableaux issus des séries "Fleurs", "Mao" et "Chaises électriques" notamment, et des
films de l’artiste. I

This fall, the Museum of Modern Art in the City of Paris will present a still little known series by Andy Warhol
(1928-1987), created in 1978. This artist is regarded as one of the initiators, if not the inventor, of Pop Art. It
will be the largest installation ever delivered by Andy Warhol : 102 paintings, placed end to end, covering the
walls on about 130 meters. The series named Shadows is based on two photos taken in his famous studio
and is presented as an extremely abstract variation around death or the anxiety that it can trigger in us. This
monumental piece will be displayed at the Museum with approximately 70 other paintings from the series
“Flowers“, “Mao“ and “Electric chairs“ and with some movies by the artist. I
