Par son exposition « Aventuriers des mers , De Sindbad à Marco Polo », l ’ Institut du Monde Arabe offre un voyage à la fois sensationnel et temporel , et propose aux visiteurs de découvrir d ’ extraordinaires récits de voyages qui témoignent de la richesse des échanges maritimes entre les mers de l ’ Ancien Monde . Des débuts de l ’ Islam à l ’ aube du XVIIème siècle et des aventures de Sindbad , le marin des Mille et Une Nuits , aux voyages de Vasco de Gama ( v . 1460-1525 ) en passant par l ’ effroyable naufrage du géographe Ibn Jubayr ( 1145-1217 ), l ’ Institut du Monde Arabe présente un parcours immersif exceptionnel mêlant son , images et procédés optiques . Set sail with the Arabs , but also the greatest European sailors , on a wonderful voyage of discovery guided by the most famous and extraordinary travel diaries . Extraordinary travel diaries have related the fruitful maritime exchanges that flourished in the seas of the Old World . Visitors will be able to view these wonderful accounts — the common thread of “ Ocean Explorers , from Sindbad to Marco Polo ”— in the most famous travel diaries . From the beginning of Islam at the dawn of the 17th century and Sindbad , the sailor in The Arabian Nights , to Vasco de Gama ’ s travels ( c . 1460-1525 ) and the terrible sinking of the geographer Ibn Jubayr ( 1145-1217 ), the Arab World Institute presents an exceptional journey of immersion combining sounds , images and optical devices .
