The works of the Bellini family, Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese, Tiepolo and Canaletto also exported Venetian aesthetics well beyond the city’ s borders. While many of these works have been scattered throughout the world, some still adorn the walls of the Doge ' s Palace and St. Mark ' s Basilica. As a ville-musée par excellence, Venice has for centuries influenced the whole world with its ingenious know-how and its unique sense of aesthetics. Far from sticking to its past glory, it is today affirming itself as the avant-garde showcase of contemporary art. Through its Biennale, Venice has become the benchmark in architecture, but also in contemporary dance, music and cinema. It therefore is imperative to go to the 57th Contemporary Art Biennale, Viva Arte Viva, from May 13 to November 26, 2017. Not to mention la Mostra of Venice, Venice famous Film Festival, whose 2017 edition will take place from 30 August to 9 September. I
