tation balnéaire majeure en Tunisie, Hammamet a toujours passionné de
nombreux artistes, dont le plus célèbre reste Paul Klee. La villa Eyquem
a participé à cet essor culturel en accueillant notamment l’écrivain Georges
Bernaos ainsi qu’André Gide. Située au bord de la mer, elle reste l'une des plus
belles œuvres architecturales de la ville.
La villa Eyquem espère à travers son lieu renouer avec son histoire en offrant
aux artistes un espace dédié à l’échange et à la collaboration. Ce projet innovant
propose de mettre la maison à la disposition de directeurs artistiques pour y
organiser des résidences d’artistes ainsi qu’un volet d’activité plus spécifiquement destiné à la professionnalisation des artistes par le biais de workshops de
haut niveau. Au programme on y retrouve des workshops de danse, de chorégraphies, de théâtre et cinéma. Par la suite, les spectacles créés à Dar Eyquem
ont vocation à être diffusés sur l’ensemble du territoire tunisien. Une résidence
musicale d’une semaine, en co-production avec Lyoum et sous la direction artistique de Fred Métayer, auteur-compositeur français, de Jihed Khmiri (percussions) et d’Emna Jaziri (voix) a déjà porté ses fruits. Elle a permis grâce à cette
volonté culturelle de produire quatre titres musicaux intitulés Rit Ennejma. Dar
Eyquem est aujourd’hui une chance et un nouveau souffle à tous les amoureux
des arts, elle offre ainsi de réelles perspectives de dynamisation de la sphère

by a magnificent, luxurious garden, the Villa Eyquem is today a
new cultural institution designed to host international artists
residencies and to organize workshops in order to create
a dialogue between cultures and to reinforce the abilities
of Tunisian artists. More than a new cultural centre, it is
also a place for exchange and inspiration.

ajor seaside resort in Tunisia, Hammamet has always been fascinating for many artists,
of whom the most famous was Paul Klee. Villa Eyquem played a role in this cultural
development by welcoming, among others, writers Georges Bernaos and André Gide. Located
on the coast, it is one of the most beautiful architectural works in the city. Villa Eyquem, by offering
artists a space dedicated to exchange and collaboration, wishes to reconnect with its history. This
innovative project proposes to make the house available to art directors who are willing to organize
residencies for artists as well as activities specifically aimed at professionalizing artists through highlevel workshops. On the schedule, there are dance, choregraphy, theatre and cinema workshops.
Subsequently, the shows created in Dar Eyquem are intended for distribution throughout Tunisian
territory. A week-long music residency in co-production with Lyoum and under the artistic direction
of Fred Métayer, French author-composer, Jihed Khmiri (drums) and Emna Jaziri (voice) has already
borne fruit. It has allowed to produce four songs entitled Rit Ennejma. The Dar Eyquem represents,
