La Villa Médicis rend hommage à l’un de ses plus illustres pensionnaires, le peintre Yan Pei-Ming. Considéré comme l’un des plus grands artistes contemporains de sa génération, la peinture de Yan Pei-Ming se
caractérise par leur facture vigoureuse, leur format imposant et leur bichromie.
Ainsi, une vingtaine d’œuvres spécialement conçues pour les galeries de la Villa Médicis sont exposées pour
la première fois. À travers ses œuvres, Yan Pei-Ming dépeint Rome et sa longue histoire, des ruines aux
portraits de papes, de l’iconographie aux moments clés de la politique italienne.  I Du 18 mars au 19 juin 2016

The Villa Medici pays tribute to one of its most famous residents, painter Yan Pei-Ming. Considered as one of the greatest
contemporary artists of his generation, Yan Pei-Ming’s paintings are characterised by their vigorous duotone aspect and their
imposing size.Therefore, about twenty artworks especially designed for the Villa Medici’s galleries are exhibited for the first time.
Through his work, Yan Pei-Ming paints Rome and its long history, from the ruins to the portraits of Popes, from the iconography
