The Turn
Quel rôle l’art a-t-il joué pendant les révolutions qui ont bouleversé le monde arabe ? L’événement « The
Turn » revient sur l’impact des transformations politiques et sociales sur les pratiques artistiques tunisiennes, égyptiennes, syriennes et libyennes. L’exposition se déroulera au Kunstraum Niederoesterreich de
Vienne et présentera des « traces de performances », des installations mais aussi des « œuvres-objets » de 18
artistes dont Noutayel, Moufida Fehdila et Faten Rouissi. Parallèlement à cette exposition, des artistes, experts, théoriciens de l’art et des représentants d’institutions culturelles d’Autriche, d’Allemagne, d’Egypte,
de Libye, de Syrie et de Tunisie débattront des financements accordés aux artistes, des projets réalisés dans
l’espace public et d’autres sujets liés à la thématique centrale de l’événement. Le vernissage de l’exposition
sera ponctué de trois performances : « Do not track » de Moufida Fedhila, « Communiqué numéro 2 » de
Halim Karabibène et « Kingdom of Letters » de Inkman. I Du 17 mars au 14 mai
The Turn
What role has art played in the revolutions that
have shaken the Arab world ? The event “The Turn“
reflects on the political and social transformations on
Tunisian, Egyptian, Syrian and Libyan art practices.
The exhibition will take place at the Kunstraum
Niederoesterreich in Vienna and will present “traces of
performances“, installations but also “objects-works“
by 18 artists including Noutayel, Moufida Fehdila and
Faten Rouissi. On the sidelines of this exhibition, artists,
experts, art theorists and representatives of Austrian,
German, Egyptian, Libyan, Syrian and Tunisian cultural
institutions will debate over financing granted to artists,
projects realized in the public space and other topics
related to the event’s central thematic. The exhibition
opening will be punctuated by three performances :
“Do not track“ by Moufida Fedhila, “Communiqué
number 2“ by Halim Karabibène and “Kingdom of
Letters“ by Inkman. I From 17 March to 14 May
