eopened since September 2015, a four year renovation will have been necessary to restore the beauty of
this luxury hotel, one of the first in the Tunisian capital. If the superb “Art Nouveau“ façade from 1926 merges
graciously with the avenue’s authentic decor, the interior is resolutely modern.
Spaces and decoration have been entirely redesigned by interior designer Jacques Chlioui. Simple lines and sober
but always elegant furnishings dominate the 129 bedrooms of the Ritz Carlton. Furthermore, each room reflects
Tunisia’s profound character. From the handwoven rugs to the elevator doors flanked with the New York Times
front page published the day after the revolution, and artworks by Tunisian artists such as a sculpture by Feriel
Lakhdar installed in the hotel entrance, these few Tunisian touches give a unique style to the Ritz Carlton Tunis.
