After being described initially in 1933 from the Gulf of Suez by the French opisthobranch malacologist Dr. Alice Pruvot-Fol (1873 – 1972), this species was not seen again until its rediscovery in 2000 in the Sea of Khorfakkan by the underwater photographers Carole Harris and Leon Betts. It lives also in the Gulf of Aqaba and the Northern Indian Ocean. It can reach a total length of at least 5 cm. ..
