The pictures above and below of the 7.1 cm long rare coelacanth specimen from
Lebanon is complete except for a small missing section of the tail. All of the rest
of the fins are preserved with exceptional detail. The detail on the skull, delicate
teeth, body, scales and fins is impressive.
This is likely a juvenile specimen because of the large eye (dark spot) and small
size of the fish. This specimen has no restoration and the colour is natural. This
specimen has been coated to protect the fish and the delicate bones but this can
be washed off easily with water. This specimen has one repaired break but no
restoration.
