FAMILY & HOME BRIDAL BLISS Bride: Mallory Nezam, account manager at Elasticity, artist, and yoga instructor at Urban Breath Groom: Andy Mullenix, software developer at Montage Healthcare Solutions Wedding Date: June 27, 2015 Wedding Location: Mallory’s mother’s beautiful backyard in Webster Groves/Crestwood, Missouri THE PROPOSAL We both finished work early on a Thursday in January, and rushed to Laumeier Sculpture Park for a quick hike before sunset. This was Andy’s first visit to the park. We grabbed Korean food at Asian Kitchen, and then watched Saul Williams and Suheir Hammad perform spoken word in Midtown. This was already a perfect night - art, the outdoors, delicious international cuisine, poetry. We ended the evening with wine and desert at The Chocolate Bar in Laumeier Square. Andy suggested running through the park in the moonlight, which we did, and he pulled out a ring (handmade by the groom himself), recited a beautiful line of poetry from John Ashbery (a mutual favorite) and the deal was sealed. We literally climbed into a tree for a commemorative smooch! THE DRESS I was looking for a dress that combined Western and Indian aesthetics (my dad’s family is Indian). I found a dress that was a hybrid, affordable, comfy, and made by hand by a dressmaker in Barcelona. FAVORITE MOMENT It’s small, but I think I’ll always remember when a family friend of Andy’s came up to me at the wedding and talked about how he’d known Andy since he was a baby. It was clear that he genuinely adored Andy and simply wanted to share a moment with me in mut X[ݙH[
