Javier Mendoza’s creativity and perseverance are easy to see in his
evolution from a songwriter for Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin
to a full-time singer, songwriter and performer today. Mendoza has
worked with and shared the stage with the likes of Willie Nelson,
Ben Folds, Santana, Indina Menzel, Los Lobos and The Roots.
Estereotipo features a crème de la crème of St. Louis Latin jazz
artists like Dave Black on guitar, Marc Torlina on bass, and R. Scott
Bryan on percussion. The group also includes Pete Ruthenburg on
piano, and drummer extraordinaire Grover Stewart. Tickets are $20;
$10 for students.
