GAZELLE MAGAZINE Vol. 2, Issue 3 | Page 4

GAZELLE PUBLISHER’S NOTE Oh what a ride the past year has been. Last January, we made the decision to create a magazine franchise that would be focused on inspiring and empowering women. To be quite honest, I got tired of the cliquish behavior I encountered many times among a select group of women. The mentality of exclusion. As a person who was fortunate enough to have traveled the world at a young age, I saw the possibilities that this community had to offer. I refused to let a small group of people speak for an entire community. I knew that there was a niche for a women’s magazine, but I had no idea that Gazelle would explode as fast as it has, or that we would have a second publication only a year later. Our growth has been in so many ways thanks to some incredible people of influence who believe that having more publications, more events, and supporting innovation and ideas only makes our city a better place. We are proud to celebrate our one year anniversary with the launch of the Gazelle Influence List, which includes both women and MEN! We kick off our annual list with “20 People to Know.” They help make St. Louis a better place to live and work. The diversity in backgrounds is a testament to who we really are as a community. St. Louis is a fusion of cultures, ideas, innovators, visionaries and ethnicities. We recognize all that St. Louis can be, and are proud to contribute to its future. We welcome you to join us in this journey to prove the world wrong. St. Louis is an awesome city. St. Louis is a cosmopolitan city. St. Louis is progressive. We live here and we love it. If we speak it and we believe it, we manifest it. 4 Cillah Hall Publisher [email protected] GAZELLE STL
