s only the third executive director and CEO in Paraquad’s 46year history, Aimee Wehmeier continues the agency’s tradition
of excellence - promoting opportunity and independence for
people with disabilities.
A native of St. Charles, Missouri, Aimee, 45, directs eight main
program areas and more than 150 employees at Paraquad, an
organization that annually serves over 3,000 people with all types of
disabilities. Aimee is responsible for the agency’s strategic vision, as
well as increasing its profile and visibility.
Aimee has muscular dystrophy, uses a power wheelchair and has
never walked. Her story of independence mirrors the mission of
Paraquad. She is a strong advocate for “systems change” to increase
economic self-sufficiency and independence for people with disabilities.
Aimee’s leadership skills have been recognized across the state.
She serves on the Missouri State Rehabilitation Council, Missouri
Foundation for Health Community Advisory Committee, Missouri
Housing Trust Fund Advisory Committee, Fontbonne University
College of Education and Allied Health Professions Advisory Board,
Diversity Awareness Partnership Board, and the Regional Chamber of
Commerce Board.
In 2010, she was a recipient of the Governor’s Council on Disability’s
Inclusion Award, and was recognized by “The St. Louis Business
Journal” as a Diverse Business Leaders 2015 honoree.
