T
he last year has been a busy one for
Marvin Mitchell, president and CEO
of Compass Retirement Solutions.
Listed in the top 5 percent of financial
advisors in the United States, CRS is growing
fast, doubling in staff, and purchasing an office
building in Chesterfield, Missouri. Marvin
was recently selected by the St. Louis County
NAACP to be honored with the prestigious
Legacy Award, and is one of the top five
finalists for retirement advisor of the year.
Sundays at 7 a.m., Marvin shares his
knowledge on his talk show, “Rethinking
Retirement,” on KRTS-550 AM radio, and
is also featured on Jubilee-690 AM. His first
book will be released in the fall.
With a desire to “pay it forward,” this year,
Marvin gave $50,000 in scholarships, affording
other African-American males like himself the
opportunity to go to college. Marvin was also able
to support the National Kidney Foundation, The
Pink Angels Foundation and College Bound.
How does he do it all?
He has high expectations (of himself and
those around him), builds and then sustains
momentum through strategizing, maintaining
focus, and surrounding himself with good people.
Marvin was the first person in his family to
graduate college, attending Southern Illinois
University Edwardsville. Marvin then set his
sights on a career as a financial advisor and
has never looked back. He is always learning,
striving to better himself and his business.
Marvin is a speaker, coach, trainer, and
mentor. He enjoys traveling, playing softball
and staying involved at his church.
