Donn Sorensen

A
long-time executive in the medical
management field and an active
community and nonprofit leader,
Donn Sorensen is currently president of
Mercy East Region, which is part of the Mercy
health system, the seventh largest Catholic
healthcare system in the United States. In
addition, he serves on the board of directors
for Care To Learn St. Louis and is chair of the
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri.
Donn is a fellow of the American College
of Medical Practice Executives, and in 2016
he was elected board chair for the American
Medical Group Association’s board of
directors. He holds a bachelor’s degree
in business administration from Luther
College in Decorah, Iowa; a master’s in health
administration from St. Mary’s College in
Rochester, Minnesota; and a master’s in
business administration from Missouri State
University in Springfield, Missouri.
Donn is a national speaker and has been
published numerous times. His book, “BigHearted Leadership” is inspiring leaders
across the country. Donn has two children
- Alec, a recent graduate of the University of
Missouri–Columbia, and Jenna, who is set to
attend St. Louis University in the fall. Donn
lives in Clayton, Missouri. He enjoys travel,
wine and sporting events.
