pera Theatre of St. Louis honored opera
icon and Grammy Award-winner Grace
Bumbry at its annual spring gala. The event
was held at Hunter Farms, home of Mr. and Mrs.
Stephen F. Brauer. The night’s theme evoked Paris,
where Bumbry debuted with the Paris Opéra at the
age of 23. It also evokes composer Giacomo Puccini’s
beloved opera, “La bohème,” which recently ran for
nine performances at Opera Theatre. Proceeds
from the gala will support OTSL’s various yearround programs. Mr. and Mrs. David Steward of
Worldwide Technology underwrote the spring fête.
