he platinum-selling singer, songwriter and producer,
Tinashe, is the epitome of diversity and self-expression,
with her unique background and ever-evolving style and
career choices.
Her father is an immigrant from Zimbabwe (first
generation), and her mother is of Danish, Norwegian and English
descent. The family moved to Los Angeles from Lexington, Kentucky,
to support Tinashe’s dream of a career in the entertainment business.
She attended high school for a year, finishing early to pursue a full-time
career in music, later signing with RCA Records.
Tinashe began studying ballet, tap and jazz dancing at the age of 4,
and continued to compete in various styles as a part of a dance company
until she was 18.
John Frieda recognizes that for Tinashe, and for all women, hair is
a form of self-expression, a reflection of their personalities and power.
The “Your Hair Talks, Make A Statement” campaign built a community
of empowered and self-assured females, who all have something
to say. Fans can share their own hair story on social media using
#YourHairTalksMakeAStatement.
