Pantone ’ s 2017 Color of the Year is Greenery . It ’ s bright , it ’ s playful , it ’ s fresh and energetic . Pantone scouts countless industries , including fashion , interiors , home goods , automotive , technology and more to determine the physical and emotional trends that represent the year . After all , colors have a direct effect on how we feel and interact with our environments .

Greenery was chosen for its energizing , youthful , natural feeling . After a year of turmoil , disasters and conflict , we are all seeking the renewing feeling of spring , represented perfectly by this refreshing color .
We look to the red carpet for our fashion inspiration . Most shades of green we see in this setting are olive , forest or lime green . Julianne Moore found the perfect balance of femininity and fun with a textured yellowgreen dress with accents of silver , black and purple . This hue brings an energy of youth , freshness and revitalization with the perfect hint of glamour . Stark black accents add a hint of unexpected drama , pulling the look together in a unique way .
For our interior look , we were inspired by the texture and palette of Moore ’ s outfit . From lighting to accessories , we wanted to incorporate unique textures , similar colors , and that fun , unexpected element we love so much . The vase and gourd-shaped lamp give hints of nature and spring , and branch shapes around the mirror give a more glamorous touch . We chose a dark pendant light with crystal accents to mimic the black sequin collar on her dress , and a simple black drink table to match her shoes .
