T
he best of local media recently gathered for the St. Louis Press
Club’s Media Person of the Year gala at the Edward Jones
North Campus. A lively cocktail reception was followed by
a seated dinner and program honoring veteran newspaper
columnist Eric Mink, longtime TV news reporter Betsey
Bruce, sports personality Frank Cusumano and the late newsman John Auble.
Radio station KSHE 95 was also recognized for 50 years of rock ‘n’ roll over
the airwaves. For its Lifetime Achievement Award, the Press Club honored
acclaimed journalist Jim Lehrer, longtime PBS news anchor and University
of Missouri graduate. KSDK’s Mike Bush served as master of ceremonies; Bill
Greenblatt and Tom Eschen served as event co-chairs. Gazelle was the event’s
official media sponsor.
