" The 53rd session of the Festival of Carthage will be faithful to the choices of its founding fathers and the taste of its audience, which was inherited through generations, taking from each one a different feature that expresses its era." By these words, Mr Mokhtar Rassaa, the director of the Festival summarizes the philosophy of preparing an exceptional program that respects the festival ' s heritage, its cultural specificity and the expectations of its audience.
41 shows divided between: The Roman Theatre( 28 shows), the Carthage Museum( 12 shows) and the Cathedral of the Acropolis of Carthage( one show). These shows will be presented to the audience from July 13 to August 19. A very rich program with a variety of musical and theatrical shows, opened to all styles from Tunisia and from all over the world... A large number of first-class stars and young artists who offer alternative and innovative experiences that are of great interest and followed on YouTube. The 53rd session of the International Festival of Carthage gives them the opportunity to leave the virtual space to live the experience on open theaters. This new session, which again counts Tunisair among its official sponsors, bets on Tunisian music in its diversity. At the opening, it celebrates 60 years of tunisian music and retraces its main stages, with the participation of the most beautiful voices. It also opens the Roman Amphitheater, the Museum of Carthage to the various Tunisian artistic experiences like rap, and the Arena of Carthage with the participation of three stars: Balti, Akrem Mag and Kly BBJ. Popular art will also be present with the participation of Walid Tounsi one of the icons of the popular song and a ceremony will be organized in honor of the stars of Tunisian popular art.
The third edition of the Carthage International Festival gives the opportunity to two of the most important young voices Amani Souissi and Ayman Lassigue to present a common concert. They will offer to the audience the best of their productions after having triumphed TV shows " Star Academy " and " Super Star ".
Soufia Sadok is back to find her outstanding achievements on the exceptional scene of Carthage. Yasmin Azaiz and Emel Mathlouthi, are the two other artists famous for their original experiences that will meet the audience on the Amphitheatre.
Speaking about theater, the artist Lotfi Abdeli returns to the Roman Theater in Carthage after the fantastic success of last year. The French artist Michel Boujenah will tell those who love him the details of the life he dreamed of when he celebrates his 60th birthday, recalling the details of his birth and in Tunisia and his close attachment to his origins. From Algeria, the audience of the 53rd session of the International Festival of Carthage will meet one of the most popular artists today Kadeer Jamonais, whose popularity surpasses the Algerian and Maghreb borders and extends to different regions in Africa and the world.
The Roman Theater of Carthage will receive four first-class Stars from the Arab world: The superstar Ragheb Alama, who has a great love story with the Roman Amphitheatre and its audience. The Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram, who has achieved an exceptional success in Carthage since 2003. Sherine Abdel Wahab, the Queen of the Arab song with her magic voice, Nassif Zaitoun, one of the best Syrian voices in vogue at the moment.
