Du 7 juillet au 24 octobre 2021 Le Tate Britain organise une vaste exposition sur Paula Rego en collaboration avec le musée d ’ Art de La Haye et le Musée Picasso de Malaga . Originaire du Portugal , l ’ artiste pluridisciplinaire et dotée d ’ un imaginaire sans limites a révolutionné la façon dont les femmes sont représentées . S ’ inspirant largement de sa vie personnelle ainsi que du contexte socio-politique dans lequel elle a évolué , entre sa terre natale et le Royaume-Uni , son pays d ’ adoption , Paula Rego se distingue par son style figuratif unique . L ’ exposition présentera une centaine d ’ œuvres dont des collages , peintures , pastels , dessins à l ’ encre et gravures , incluant ses premiers travaux des années 1950 et ses célèbres séries Dog Women et Abortion . 7 July – 24 October 2021 Tate Britain is organizing a major exhibition on Paula Rego in collaboration with Kunstmuseum Den Haag and Museo Picasso Málaga . The Portuguese-born , uncompromising artist of extraordinary imaginative power , she has revolutionized the way in which women are represented . Drawing heavily on her personal life and the socio-political context in which she grew up , between her homeland and the United Kingdom , Paula Rego played a key role in redefining figurative art in the UK and internationally . The exhibition will feature over 100 works , including
collage ,
paintings , largescale
pastels , ink and pencil
drawings and
etchings . These will include early work from the 1950s in which Rego first explored personal as well as social struggle , her large pastels of single figures from the acclaimed Dog Women and Abortion series .
