Du 19 mai au 26 septembre 2021 L ’ Institut du Monde Arabe rend hommage aux plus grandes artistes de la chanson et du cinéma arabe du XXe siècle . D ’ Oum Kalthoum à Warda al-Djazaïria , d ’ Asmahan à Fairouz en passant par Souad Hosni , l ’ exposition met en lumière les parcours mythiques de ces artistes de légende et leur influence sur l ’ histoire sociale des femmes arabes . A travers de nombreuses photographies d ’ archive , d ’ extraits de films et de concerts , d ’ objets personnels , de robes de scène et d ’ interviews rares , l ’ Institut du Monde Arabe dresse le portrait de ces icônes du XXe siècle qui ont porté sous le feu des projecteurs une nouvelle image de la femme et qui ont participé à la naissance du féminisme au sein des sociétés patriarcales . 9 May - 26 September 2021 The Institut du Monde Arabe pays tribute to the greatest artists of Arab song and cinema of the 20th century . From Oum Kalthoum to Warda al-Djazaïria , from Asmahan to Fairouz and Souad Hosni , the exhibition highlights the mythical careers of these legendary artists and their influence on the social history of Arab women . Through numerous archival photographs , film and concert excerpts , personal objects , stage dresses and rare interviews , the Institut du Monde Arabe paints a portrait of these 20th century icons who brought a new image of women into the spotlight and participated in the birth of feminism within patriarchal societies .
