For decades Puerto Vallarta has
been known as a Gay Friendly
destination. A place where
all in the LGBTQ com-
munity are welcomed and
can enjoy their lives. The
same holds true for the
now flourishing city and
its growing reputation as
a destination for Fine Art
and the artists who create it.
Something truly wonderful has
happened here! Artists from far
flung lands and importantly from throug-
hout Latin America and Mexico in parti-
cular, have found a home here where they
can create and express works of power,
beauty, social significance and not to be
excluded, wonderful whimsy.
A natural outgrowth of that development
has been the emergence of a vibrant art
gallery scene. While galleries exist throug-
hout the area, the Centro Historico
ArtWalk plays a necessary role in
the exhibition and promotion of
artist’s works from paintings and
sculpture to wonderful handmade
treasures of wearable art. It’s all
about art, not artifice. Each Wed-
nesday night from 6pm – 10pm, 16
distinct galleries open their doors,
offering refreshments and cocktails
for art lovers and collectors in
what has become a necessary and
hopeful weekly art-crawl in the
neighborhood of El Centro.
Whether one begins the ArtWalk at either
end of el Centro, the lack of artifice
becomes apparent and you’ll find no
overly large, faux industrial and antiseptic
spaces, but rather wonderful galleries with
approachable art dealers and attendants
welcoming you to a vast array of fine
work and treasures. Bring your copy of
Gay PV and use the map included. In no
particular order the galleries are: Galeria
Uno, LOD, Diseño Natural, Only One,
Galeria Pacifico, Colectika, Sergio Bus-
tamante, Galeria Corisca I and Galeria
Corsica II, The Loft Galeria, Caballito de
Mar, Posters International, Mann Made
Mexico, Galeria de Ollas, Browne Galeria
and Cristi Fer Art Studio & Workshops.
Durante décadas, Puerto Vallarta ha sido
conocido como un destino Gay Friendly. Un
lugar donde todos en la comunidad LGBTQ
son bienvenidos y pueden disfrutar de sus vidas.
Lo mismo es cierto para la florecien-
te ciudad y su creciente reputación
como destino de Bellas Artes y
los artistas que la crean.
¡Algo realmente maravilloso ha
sucedido aquí! Artistas de tie-
rras lejanas, de toda América
Latina y México en particular,
han encontrado un hogar aquí
donde pueden crear y expresar
obras de poder, belleza, importancia
social y no ser excluidos, es fantástico.
Una consecuencia natural de ese desarrollo ha
sido la aparición de una vibrante escena de ga-
lerías de arte. Si bien existen galerías en toda el
área, el ArtWalk Centro Histórico desempeña
un papel necesario en la exhibición y promoción
de obras de artistas, desde pinturas y esculturas
hasta maravillosos tesoros hechos a mano
de arte para usarse. Se trata de arte, no de
artificio. Cada miércoles por la noche de 6pm a
10pm, 16 galerías distintas abren sus puertas,
ofreciendo refrescos y cócteles para amantes del
arte y coleccionistas en lo que se ha convertido
en un necesario y esperanzador recorrido de arte
semanal en el barrio de El Centro.
Ya sea que comience el ArtWalk en cualquiera
de los extremos del Centro, la falta de artificio
se hace evidente y no encontrarás espacios
demasiado grandes, falsos, industriales y
antisépticos, sino más bien maravillosas galerías
con comerciantes de arte y asistentes accesibles
que te darán la bienvenida a una amplia gama
