forts could occur once the gay business become more organized via a GLBT chamber of commerce .
Puerto Vallarta has many attractions to offer the GLBT tourist besides great bars and clubs : ( i ) the weather ; ( ii ) we are a little Mexican Town and you are coming to a unique Mexican place ( Vallarta provides that which CancĂșn and Cabo cannot ); ( iii ) Puerto Vallarta is a beach destination with mountains providing natural protection from hurricanes , boating , super-sailing and jungle adventure activities ; ( iv ) a great gourmet selection for all pockets ; and ( v ) the local people used to gay people and respect them . If you try to find all these things in one place , it would be very difficult to find another one in the world like Puerto Vallarta .
We discussed Gay Marriage with Ing . Borioli . He said this is a very difficult issue , even among gay people . to obtain a consensus of opinion . He indicated the focus should be that the gay community has an option in Mexico now , Mexico City , to get legally married . You can go to Mexico City get married and come back to Puerto Vallarta , just as in the US . Although the Catholic Church does not recognize any wedding outside the church , ie beach weddings , Puerto Vallarta is a great destination to have a ceremony after the real wedding .
Our last topic of discussion was the tourist and the police . Police harassment should never occur . If it does , the administration encourages one to come to the tourist office and file a non-legal report . All reports are monitored and there is communication with the US Consulate , the Mayor and the Police Chief . If a gay tourist feels civil rights have been violated , then the visitor is encouraged to file an official police report . Full interview online at gaypv . mx
