When and how did you start gogo dancing? When I was about 21, I entered a pageant to be Mr. Apollo for the gay and lesbian Mardi Gras celebrations in my hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana. I won the contest and met several gogo dancers at the event. One of them was booking dancers at a bar in Baton Rouge and asked me if I would work there. It turned out to be a lot of fun and I realized I could pay my rent in college only working one night a month at that bar. I stopped for a few years when I started working, but I started dancing again not long before I met Seth and he introduced me to dancing at large parties.
What’ s your biggest passion in life? Education, freedom, happiness, experiences. I’ m an educator at heart. If I can help someone make sense of math, science, relationships, life or anything worthwhile from a logical and sufficiently evidenced perspective, I feel like I’ ve accomplished something truly worthwhile. I also love challenging people to think outside their cultural boxes and experience new things. It’ s OK to run around naked sometimes, and sex is not a dirty word. Do what makes you happy and empower others around you to do the same!
What do you like to do in your spare time? It depends on my mood, like most people I’ m sure. I think a lot in my spare time, read news or books( usually non-fiction), study other languages( French, Spanish, Portuguese), and watch a favorite TV show again or start something new.
¿ Cuándo y cómo empezaste a bailar como gogo? Cuando tenía alrededor de 21 entré en un concurso para ser Mr. Apollo en las celebraciones de Mardi Gras LGBT en mi ciudad natal de Lafayette, Louisiana. Gané el concurso y conocí a varios bailarines gogo en el evento. Uno de ellos estaba buscando bailarines para un bar en Baton Rouge y me preguntó si me gustaría trabajar allí. Resultó ser muy divertido y me di cuenta de que podía ganar suficiente para pagar mi renta en la universidad trabajando sólo una noche al mes en ese bar. Dejé de bailar durante unos años cuando empecé a trabajar, pero empecé a bailar de nuevo no mucho antes de conocer a Seth y que me invitara a bailar en fiestas más grandes.
¿ Cuál es tu mayor pasión en la vida? La educación, libertad, felicidad y experiencias. Soy un educador de corazón. Si puedo ayudar a alguien a encontrarle sentido a las matemáticas, las ciencias, las relaciones, la vida o cualquier cosa que valga la pena desde una perspectiva lógica y suficientemente evidenciada siento que he logrado algo realmente valioso. También me encanta desafiar a la gente a pensar fuera de sus casillas culturales y experimentar cosas nuevas. Está bien correr a veces desnudo y saber que sexo no es una palabra prohibida. ¡ Haz lo que te hace feliz y alienta a los demás a tu alrededor para que hagan lo mismo!
¿ Qué te gusta hacer en tu tiempo libre? Depende de mi estado de ánimo, como la mayoría de la gente, estoy seguro. Pienso mucho en mi tiempo libre, leo noticias o libros( generalmente no ficción), estudio otros idiomas( francés, español, portugués), y veo un programa de TV favorito otra vez o empiezo a ver algo nuevo.
