Mexico City, also known by the acronym CDMX, is the capital of Mexico, as well as the largest city in the country and the one with the most inhabitants.
This city is the capital of events, culture, historical monuments and countless important aspects, but even more important for us, it is the LGBT capital of Mexico.
And it is because, if there’ s something that Mexico City has done for the LGBT community, it has been creating a precedent in 2009 by becoming the first federative entity in Mexico to legalize marriage for same sex couples, launching several initiatives and positive actions to become the first LGBTTTI friendly city nationwide and clearly establishing a path towards equality across the country.
All of these initiatives have made it such an important and influential place for the LGBT community in Mexico, as each day they push this beautiful city to live up to other great cities on an ideological and social level. It is therefore evident that the city is constantly evolving, there is always something new to do, see, eat, feel or listen and everything is changing and improving, except for historical sites and monuments that have been preserved in a very successful way.
La CDMX( Ciudad de México) es la capital de México, así como la ciudad más grande del país y la que tiene el mayor número de habitantes.
Esta ciudad es la capital de los eventos, de la cultura, de los monumentos históricos y de un sinfín de aspectos importantes, pero aún más importante para nosotros, es la capital LGBT de México.
Y es porque, si algo nos ha dado la CDMX a la comunidad LGBT, ha sido el precedente que creó en el 2009 al ser la primera entidad federativa en México en legalizar las bodas civiles para parejas del mismo sexo, lanzar varias iniciativas y acciones positivas para convertirse en la primera ciudad amigable LGBTTTI a nivel nacional y marcar claramente un camino hacia la igualdad en todo el país.
Todas estas iniciativas la han convertido en un lugar tan importante e influyente para la comunidad LGBT de México, ya que cada día impulsan a esta hermosa ciudad a estar a la altura de otras grandes ciudades a nivel ideológico y social. Por lo mismo es evidente notar que la ciudad se encuentra en constante evolución, siempre hay algo nuevo que hacer, ver, comer, sentir o escuchar y todo está cambiando y mejorando, a excepción de los sitios y monumentos históricos que se han preservado de forma exitosa.
