Laezonia feedlot, abattoir mooted
A
basic assessment
process has been
announced for a
1 000-head cattle feedlot and
abattoir that has been
proposed for a 14ha property
in Laezonia. This will form a
preliminary part of the
environmental impact
assessment process required
for such a development, in
terms of the National
Environmental Management
Act, No 107 of 1998.
The so-called Delport
development covers portions
25, 26 and 27 of Laezonia
Agricultural Holdings and if
approved will have a capacity
of 1 000 cattle or 1 500 small
stock, with associated
structures and buildings, as
well as an abattoir.
The developer is given as

Co-operative and interested

areas, have been invited to
register with the environmental assessment practitioners to
be able to have input and to
view the basic assessment
report once completed.
