Page 7 HAPPY NEW YEAR!! The 2012 Mayan Calendar says that this is the last year of the world… So if this is true most of us have got to get off our ass and build the vehicles of our dreams. For 2012 we at Gauge promise you the online magazine of your dreams. There are many plans to step up our show coverage, feature vehicles and continue to build the social network between auto enthusiasts. So in 2012 expect to see great things from us on this side and we want to see the same from you. So go out and build those vehicles and promote those shows! We are looking forward to a great new year! THE MAGAZINE ROOM For the first issue of 2012 we bring you a jam packed issue of super-hot rides and coast to coast show coverage. We start off this month with staff photographer Anthony Reyes and the debut of his first cover shoot for gauge. Anthony got the pleasure of shooting the beautiful Carissa Nicole on Carlos Herrera s Slammed 2008 GMC Sierra.. Next BLT and Myself teamed up and shot David Johnson s 1972 big wheeled Olds Cutlass.. We called this one Squeeze tha Juice for obvious reasons. Then we head south to catch up with staff photographer Brad Walker on the shoot of Joe Henke s 1950 Ford F1. Now this truck is just plain bad to the bone! It is a perfect example of how to restore an old truck into a timeless feature. I finish this month up with a shoot of Daylan Bailey s 1990 Isuzu Pick Up.. This Isuzu is one of the cleanest minis of the season make sure to check this one out! For show coverage we start in Panama City Beach, FL for Spring Fling. If you have never had the opportunity to attend this show it is a must! Doug and all the folks from Vital Signs really know how to do it spring break style. http://www.springflingcarshow. com Now to travel to Houston, TX for the Texas Showdown shot by staff photographer Gabe Gomez.. Everything is big in Texas and this show is produced by the same guys that put on Texas Heat Wave. This show is for sure not to miss! http://heatwaveshow. com/shows/2012-texas-showdown/ Next BLT and myself travel north to Shakopee, MN for Twisted Koncepts first annual Showoff Showdown.. For a 1st annual show this show is off the chain! Rusty and all the guys from TK really know how to do it.. I cannot wait for this year s show.. Stop by http://southeasttrucknats.com and get yourself pre-registered. Again this year we are going to feature a lifestyle section at the Indianapolis World of Wheels. If you have never had a chance to join us for this massive indoor car show now is the time. We have about 50 spots to fill in the show and want to have your rides there! To enter it is super easy! You can do it online at this link. http://autorama.com/shows/entry/indianapolis-2012 or stop by the Gauge Offices and fill out an application. We just need a few photos of your car and please enclose $50.00 to enter this ISCA sanctioned event. This includes an ISCA Membership Card, ISCA Window Decal, online subscription to the Showstopper Magazine, 2 weekend Exhibitor Passes, Commemorative Card Number Sign, and one issue of Hot Rod Show World Annual. Make sure to select that you want to be part of the Gauge Magazine Lifestyle section.. Staff photographer Lenny Thompson (aka BLT) feels that it is time to do more than just shoot photos and be a pretty face in the magazine ads.. He wants to write a section where he can rant monthly about whatever goes on in his mind. We love the idea of having him contribute but not really sure what to call this section. So I am going to run a little contest.. The first 25 people that hit me up at the contact us link.
