Page 7 THE MAGAZINE ROOM February is already here, but this year we get to enjoy it for one extra day. This month s issue is filled from beginning to end with some great features and shows from across the nation. But first you all must know that SLAMOLOGY has moved to a bigger facility, Lucas Oil Raceway. That s right the home of NHRA World Finals. Dates are still Fathers Day weekend, June 16-17, 2012. Pre-Registration is open and you can stop by the Gauge Magazine Lifestyle section at Indianapolis World of Wheels and register and get a free shirt and limited edition Slamology 2012 Sticker by doing so. So mark your calendars! Or pre-register today online at www.slamology.com To start off the features we have Shannon McGee s 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport aka Red Ram from down south. Shannon s Dodge Ram is clean and straight forward as they come. Legendary Brad Walker was able to catch this feature while at the All Star Event in Tennessee last year. Next we have our cover vehicle Import Killer a 1972 Chevrolet Nova owned by Jake Wade. We met Jake while running the Autocross at Good-Guys in Indianapolis this past year. This ride is one bad ass machine from top to bottom and doesn t know what a trailer is. For the cover we snuck into Indy Airbrush and shot the lovely Gauge girl Shaye Wright. While in Lexington, KY we caught up with Joe Hughes and his Asphalt Assassin a 1995 Nissan Hardbody that is a real head turner and was recently on the cover of Mini Truckin Magazine. Joes had this bad boy for several years and used to be on juice. Topping off the features this month is Bobby McGinley s 64 Chevrolet Impala better known as No Mercy . We spotted this unique lowrider while covering the Showoff showdown up north in the SOTA aka Minnesota. No Mercy has some hidden features that you will have to look closely for. Know for the show, we start off with the Road Rocket Rumble held at the Clarion Hotel in Indianapolis, IN put on by the Road Rockets Car Club. This is great event with live Rockabilly bands and a Pin up contest that is spectator favorite. Special thanks to Big Lenny Thompson aka BLT for the coverage. The next show in the program is the 1st WIX Filters Good-Guys Speedway (continued on page 8)
