As an interactive task, NBC10 News reporter Jesse Gary challenged small groups of
students by assigning them to competing news stations. The students were to create a
news broadcast and present it to the audience. The audience then voted for the best
station, with the winning station receiving the bulk of the money with which to bring the
news to their viewers. Students were quick to learn that with more disposable cash, their
station was able to obtain better equipment for their broadcast.
