Career Day Career Day At Gateway Gateway welcomed over 50 impressive speakers from the surrounding communities on December 13th for our third annual Career Day. We value and appreciate the relationships we have built with these wonderful Career Day speakers who volunteer their time to share their knowledge. The keynote speaker of the day was Mr. Jesse Gary from NBC10 News. Keynote Speaker: Jesse Gary a reporter from NBC10, intrigued his young audience by involving them in an exercise of what actually happens behind the scenes in the news room. Everyone was amazed at how much work and competitiveness is involved in the media business. Mr. Gary, who gave the students a real inside look at this business, is a native of New York City who earned a Peabody award for his coverage of the Oklahoma City bombings in 1995 and the 2008 riots in Oakland, California. He has since been the recipient of two Emmy’s and various Associated Press awards for breaking news stories.
