Banquet
About
200
people
were
in
attendance
on
Thursday,
June
12th
for
the
annual
Music
Department
Awards
Ceremony.
This
event
honors
all
of
the
students
in
the
music
department
for
their
outstanding
achievements
during
the
school
year.
Senior
Jarrod
Cupps
received
the
Claire
Savar
Echols
Memorial
Award
for
outstanding
performance
in
the
spring
musical.
This
annual
award
is
given
in
memory
of
Claire
Echols,
a
former
math
teacher
at
Gateway.
The
Ann
and
Al
Sattin
Memorial
Award
for
outstanding
service
to
the
Gateway
Spring
Musical
was
given
to
Rhyan
Kelleher.
The
James
and
Velma
Garner
Memorial
Award
for
a
student
who
has
shown
dedication
to
the
Marching
Band
Program
was
awarded
to
senior
band
member,
Jessica
Lawson.
The
senior
who
was
the
recipient
of
the
Brian
G.
Tice
Award
for
outstanding
vocal
and
instrumental
music
was
Jarrod
Cupps.

Regional
High
School
Band
and
Guard
Association
awarded
four
$100
scholarships
to
the

deserving
students:

Memorial
Award

to
Marching

Indoor
Color
Guard,
Jessica
Lawson.
The
Gateway
Vocal
Boosters
awarded
two
$100
scholarships
to
the
following
deserving
students:
Outstanding
Choral
Performance,
Chris
Gillespie;
Contribution
to
the
Madrigals,
Damara
Peraino;
Contribution
to
the
Spring
Musical,
Megan
Wenner.
The
two
music
parents
groups
also
combined
to
award
one
$100
scholarship
to
the
following
deserving
student:

to
Music
Program,

J.
Poirier.
Following
the
awards
ceremony
everyone
was
entertained
by
the
Gateway
music
department
in
a
musical
cabaret,
held
in
the
school
auditorium.
