Gateway Graduate Earns Title of Fulbright Scholar Former Gateway student Barbara Fisher, Class of 2009, was presented with the Prestigious J William Fulbright U. S. Student Scholarship at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey where she was an Honors Physics student. Barbara, who graduated in May, will be working in the Czech Republic as a teaching assistant for English for the 2013-‐2014 academic year. She hopes to use this opportunity to compare school structure, culture and performance with our American education system.
Former Gateway student inducted into the Gloucester County Sports Hall of Fame Laura Goetz-‐ Quirk, former Gateway Regional swim star, was one of 15 inductees to the Gloucester County Sports Hall of Fame during the 33 rd Annual Induction Banquet in March. One of the county’ s most successful swimmers of the past three decades, Laura excelled in multiple individual event competitions. Laura is also a member of the Gateway Regional Sports Hall of Fame.
Lisa Vasapollo, class of 2009, graduated from McDaniel College in May. The McDaniel College Alumni Association presented Lisa with the 2013 annual Alumni Citizenship Award, one of only two awards given( the other to a graduating man), to recognize and honor a member of the senior class who has exemplified the qualities associated with outstanding citizenship and alumni service. Students must have been active in campus life and alumni-‐ related activities, be universally respected members of the community, demonstrate maturity of judgment and integrity of attitude, possess the qualities of reliability and unobtrusive genuineness, and be committed to making McDaniel College a better place for all. Lisa attained all of these attributes and has made McDaniel College proud to have her as its representative.
