Gateway’ s mentoring program, now in its eighth year, encourages senior high school and new middle school students to mingle together as they play board games, share stories and eat snacks while getting to know one another. Throughout the course of the year, the students communicated with one another in person, via text, email, and Facebook to discuss issues that may arise during the school day. The high school students provide assistance with lockers, schedules, and getting the 7th grade students involved in activities that will enrich their experience at Gateway.
Game Day found these high school and middle school girls discussing some interesting school-‐ related issues while playing the classic card game – UNO. Looks like they were all having a pretty good time together, too.
Who remembers the game“ Clue”? OK, let’ s see – Colonel Mustard did it-‐ with the candlestick-‐ in the pantry – after midnight! Middle school and high school mentoring students had a great time getting to know one another while playing this age-‐ old game that has been enjoyed by generations before them as well.
